PORT AUTHORITIES
Port Authority liabilities vary widely depending upon the type of port and the facilities provided. Each will have their particular responsibilities and no two are ever alike. As such, each port authority needs to be considered as a separate entity and its operation and requirements carefully examined and assessed to ensure that the most appropriate and cost-effective insurance coverage is in place.
When Oceanic Insurance Brokers is asked to assist with providing coverage we consider the authority’s exposure to:

We prefer to start with a map or plan of the area under the port authority’s jurisdiction and may call for other pertinent information including promotional literature. In addition we will review the Standard Contractual Documents used by the authority to assess the extent of any contractual liabilities.
